How nanotechnology gives computers a human-like brain

Media_httpdldropboxco_hwtbn

For the first time, researchers have developed a transistor that can mimic the main functionalities of a synapse. This organic transistor, based on gold nanoparticles and known as a NOMFET (Nanoparticle Organix Memory Field-Effect Transistor), has opened the way to new generations of neuro-inspired computers, capable of responding in a manner similar to the nervous system.

So, what does this all mean? Well, neuro-inspired computers produced using this technology are capable of functions comparable to those of the human brain. Intense, huh?

Eventually we may be able to create living robots with functioning brains using these "artificial synapses". There may not be any death for them. Sounds like Terminator movie. Scary!

This is an awesome creation. But one wonders at just which point we'll have to say enough is enough. I'm all for creating a C3-PO, but can't help but fear that should these creations ever gain true conscience that we could be in for trouble. Not so much from them wanting to take over, but can you imagine what it would be like to simply live forever? Pretty scary I tell you.
