How rude! 5 fun facts about “Full House”
Any child of the 1990s remembers tuning in to the Tanner family shenanigans weeknights after wrapping up homework. “Full House” brought us Uncle Jesse, “Cut it Out,” and the wacky Kimmy Gibler, but how much do you really know about the classic cheeseball sitcom?
Prepare for a flashback to 1992 (no shoulder pads needed) with five fun facts about “Full House,” courtesy of the trivia gurus at Answers.com:
- Uncle Jesse’s last name in the first season was “Cochran,” but was changed to “Katsopolis” because John Stamos wanted the name to reflect his Greek heritage.
- In seasons 2 to 7, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen aka “Michelle Tanner” were credited as “Mary-Kate Ashley Olsen” to make it look like only one child played the role.
- Uncle Jesse’s real first name was Hermes.
- John Stamos has teased the idea of a “Full House” movie, suggesting Steve Carrell and Tracy Morgan for the roles of Danny and Joey, respectively.
- In the pilot episode, the role of Danny Tanner was played by actor John Posey because Bob Saget had a conflicting gig on CBS’ “The Morning Program.” Saget was subsequently canned from the news show gig, and the pilot was reshot.
