How to add tweets to a PowerPoint presentation

As a follow up to yesterday’s post about integrating Twitter into presentations, here is a site that provides free PowerPoint Twitter tools to enable you to display tweets in your presentation. Unfortunately, the tools are Windows-only which isn’t that big a deal since Macs are seldom used for presentations. :-)

The tools include feedback slide, ticker bar, voting, mood meter, crowd meter, and auto-tweeting. Have at it you Windows PowerPoint users. We Mac PowerPoint and Keynote users will just have to focus on content and delivery.

Of course it matters that this is available for mac. I've made presentations on both windows and mac and I prefer mac os anyday.

Has anyone tried to run Parallels and do a presentation on the PC side of the Mac ... and using this tool? I've not tried to run a presentation this way and curious if it works or is problematic? Any wisdom?

There is a tool for mac users. It's called Keynote tweet (http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Internet-Utilities/Keynote-Tweet.shtml) and it works just the same as for the Powerpoint version. Wrap your tweet in [twitter][/twitter] tags in the Notes pane of the slide and when you click onto that slide it will post the tweet.

If you're planning to tweet from Powerpoint or Keynote, create two versions of your slideshow, one with the tweets and one without. Then rehearse with the non-tweet version so that you don't accidentally post the tweets.

Thank you so much Olivia. Just looked into it and curious. It allows tweeting from inside Keynote but how about an onscreen feed of a hashtag? Not seeing that option or am I missing it?

Hi LaDonna

I'm not aware of a tool for pulling a Twitter feed into Keynote. But there are lots of other applications for pulling a Twitter feed into a display suitable for projecting. I review lots of the options in my eBook http://bit.ly/14T7wb

I agree with Priya, keynote has more beautiful templates compared to powerpoint but since Mac users still outnumbered by Windows, keynote is not so familiar to most of presentation's users/maker.
But this really a nice tool, gonna get one.
Thanks.
