Thanks for posting the panel discussion.

My only issue when a brand name and logo is being used on Twitter is when the person behind that account starts tweeting topics outside of the brand. For example, personal tweets from the company account. Why not maintain two Twitter accounts, keep one for your brand discussions and use another for personal tweeting. Otherwise, just use the one with your own name and profile image for everything. Especially for those whose brand is their personal brand (like Guy).

I am more likely to follow a person who I can identify with a name and a face. I myself do most of my tweeting via my own Twitter account which comprise both personal and business related tweets, but I also maintain a few brand accounts for strictly their own brand related tweets. This way people that want to follow ME and what I do with my brands can do so, and those only interested in my business or an aspect of it, can choose to just follow the Twitter accounts set up for that purpose without any personal chatter from me.

Cheers,
Louis

I think the big takeaway is that we still don't know what works best yet. As mentioned by the panel there exists so many tools to use. But it is those that try that will learn and those that don't will not . Sounds simple I know, but it's true.

Thanks for that perspective, Louis. Just created a new Twitter account to separate personal from business. Makes sense.

Good post Guy. It's always good to hear how corporations are embracing the technology. I agree with Louis about separate personal & brand accounts. My friends and family couldn't care less about brand posts and conversely brand followers don't care about my posts on painting my fence. Thanks for the info.

Just wondering, is direct advertising ( brand growing) what twitter is all about? Will that ruin it? Is it about (or not) personal recommendations, grape-vining, and networking? To me, a personal recommendation is a hundred times more powerful than brand name recognition. But I am probably missing the point, just my observations as (at this point) a casual observer.

It only takes 1 good example or idea to make spending time learning a success. There were many important ones in this video. Brand or Die. LOL

Thanks
