ID laws could cost 700,000 youth votes
New photo ID laws could have a dramatic effect on voter turnout among young people of color, including in the battleground states of Florida and Pennsylvania.
“Not only could (photo ID laws) dilute the political potency of young people of color, but they also have the potential to shift outcomes in competitive races. Control of the White House and the Senate could be at stake,” says Jon C. Rogowski, assistant professor of political science at Washington University in St. Louis.
