IKEA in the subway

Media_httpwwwblogcdnc_ergvr

Finding a place to plop your bum while riding public transportation can turn into a game of avoiding the funky smelling seat, the creepy dude donning a trench coat, and the terribly uncomfortable, splinter-filled benches. Now, imagine a morning commute that make your rear-end smile where you can rest comfortably while waiting for the train to arrive. Nope, it’s not the future—it’s Paris.

From March 10 to 24, IKEA is spicing up Paris subway stops with its array of home furnishings like couches, chairs, and lamps. The select stations will also feature walls decked out in images of IKEA-styled interiors. No word if Swedish meatballs will also make an appearance.

Oodles of design inspiration.

THis is the second story I saw @ Ikea today. This one is much more fun, though. The other story was by some designer pining over Ikea's changing their font a9in their catalog, I suppose). Seems their n ow using Microsft's Verdana web font instead of their own custom font... zzzz
