iPhone addiction creating iJunkies

Media_httpfarm2static_eagsd

Do you spend nights spooning your iPhone? Or, have you developed a nasty case of “iPhone thumb”? Well, my friend, it might be time to back away from your favorite Apple gadget. Researchers at Stanford University found that iPhone users are so enamored with their smartphones that they would classify their reliance as an addiction.

The study found that nearly half of the 200 respondents asked to rate their addiction on a scale from one to five (five being “fully addicted”), answered with a four or above.

Other study highlights include:

  • A mere six percent of respondents claimed to be not at all addicted to their iPhone.
  • 75 percent admitted to sleeping with their iPhone in the bed.
  • 74 percent said they felt “cool” for having an iPhone.
  • 41 percent said losing their Apple gadget would be “a tragedy.”

Perhaps the people who are taking their iPhones to bed with them are listening to an app to help them sleep? Like 'pzizz sleep'?
