Is your Facebook profile pic likable?
People with Facebook profile photos that include social cues are perceived to be more physically and socially attractive than people with simple headshots for profile pics.
“People tend to rely more on other-generated information than self-generated information when forming impressions,” says study co-author Seoyeon Hong, a doctoral student at the University of Missouri.
“In other words, opinions of other people matter more than the target person’s own self-presentation,” adds Hong.
