The World Cup has dominated chatter on Twitter since the tournament kicked off June 11, but for every excited tweet celebrating goooooooaallls, a handful of other tweets poking fun at the sport pop up. (For the record, doling out jabs at soccer is about as original as a comedian telling “yo mama” jokes.)

The debate will surely roll on as many Americans roll their eyes at the foot wizardry of world class strikers and beg the question “when does football season start?” John Cleese took a moment to chime in on the debate for the documentary “The Art of Football from A to Z” and he spares few punches (or, more appropriately, slide tackles) in his rant about soccer versus football.
