Just for the record: How do you say the word "pho"?

Faux? Pa-ho? Po? Fa? Is the h silent? Or maybe is there an accent on the p? Just how do you say the name of the delicious and celebrated Vietnamese soup noodle? Hard to describe...but you say "fuh" but the "uh" sounds like the equivalent of dropping it like it's hot...LOL

There's pho ba and pho ga. Saying pho ba sounds the same as football without pronouncing the 't' and 'll'.

I think it's pronounced like 'fur' without any emphasis on the letter R.. so yeah, like mentioned above... 'fuh'. :)

Here is the closest explanation I can think of - it's pronounced in a similar fashion to "Fur", but without the "R" sound at the end. The tone you use, is as if you were asking a question - as in... Pho? or in this instance - Fu(r)? : )

Pho is pronounced like "fuh". I am vietnamese and this is how you would say it :)

There is a restaurant in my neighborhood called "Pho-King". I giggled a little because I thought it read Poking. Then I asked a Vietnamese associate and he said the name was pronounced Fuh - King or my south Texas accent is Foo-King. Either way, something was lost in translation.
