With a 2 y-old and a 6 y-old, both boys, I would say the only thing lacking there on the table is a cold beer. The solution for when they ARE around is to have nothing breakable or of any value below 3 feet high and not care at all about the mess.
I think I can say this looks similar to our house as well - three girls, one computer, and a desk that . . . well . . . it looks like it might be a desk . . . :)
