Taking a leisurely run through the Fish River Canyon may not seem like a rational move, but that’s exactly why ultra-runner Ryan Sandes tackles it again and again.

“There’s always loads of footprints in the canyons and there are lots of different paths you can take. Which set of footprints do you take, or do you make your own path? I think that’s the same as life.”

Just because a decision isn’t rational doesn’t mean we can’t learn from it.
