Local weather sways belief in global warming
Americans are one percentage point more likely to say there’s “solid evidence” of global warming for every three degrees their local temperature rises above normal.
“As they try to make sense of this difficult issue, many people use fluctuations in local temperature to reassess their beliefs about the existence of global warming,” write the study’s authors, Patrick Egan of New York University and Megan Mullin of Temple University.
