London Olympics puts kibosh on social media photo sharing

Media_httpfarm8static_jhdvh

If you were planning on delighting your followers and friends with pics and videos of your London Olympic experience, time to brush up on your sketching and re-enactment skills. One of the conditions attendees agree to is no recordings:

Images, video and sound recordings of the Games taken by a Ticket Holder cannot be used for any purpose other than for private and domestic purposes and a Ticket Holder may not license, broadcast or publish video and/or sound recordings, including on social networking websites and the internet more generally, and may not exploit images, video and/or sound recordings for commercial purposes under any circumstances, whether on the internet or otherwise, or make them available to third parties for commercial purposes.

Officials have even tried to prevent photographers from capturing images of stadium construction, though as PetaPixel noted “…forcing that many people to keep their Olympic memories ‘private’ would be a task of Olympic proportions indeed.”

We have no doubt they’ll give it a shot, though.

Keep your Olympic memories to yourself.
