I'm afraid it's going to be the case. It's how I observe so many people now. ERs report intakes of so many patients injured from stumbling on walkway obstacles, and walking in front of moving vehicles and bicyclists. Everyone has pods in their ears, too. Nature and life are on 'mute'. A couple of years ago, it was a status symbol to be reading a messenger, but today it's mainstream. Soon, NFL players will be on theirs after every play to get messages from the coach and their agent. I'm afraid it's inevitable. It appears I'll be in minority in taking in scenery and listening to the world around me ... plus eavesdropping. : )

It is a good observation on the state of this technology today. I wonder what the artist would have created when the telephone first became mainstream? Or the Television? This too will "normalize."

Reminds me of the many times I've seen teens and college students sitting together at a restaurant table ... and all of them are on their phones texting with someone else. I hope "normalize" means we will eventually realize there's a person sitting right in front of us.
