From McRibs to Shamrock Shakes, McDonald’s has satisfied the tummy rumblings of hungry people all over the world since 1955, but which of the fast food powerhouse’s items have proved most popular?
Behold, the Top 10 (not recommended for reading pre-lunch):
10. McGriddles Breakfast Sandwich: A pancake breakfast you can eat while driving. Although, you probably shouldn’t.
9. Double Cheesebuger: Who wants one cheeseburger when you can have two? Double the meat, double the pleasure.
8. Premium Salads; Banishing the bland, iceberg lettuce creations of the past, this fancier salads targeted the folks riding the healthy food bandwagon.
7. Chicken McNuggets: The bite size poultry creation ranks as one of the most successful product launches in fast-food history.
6. Apple Dippers and Baked Apple Pie: Fruit…at McDonald’s? Shocking (and surprisingly successful).
5. Egg McMuffin: A breakfast staple for people on the move since 1971.
4. Happy Meal: Who didn’t beg mom and dad from back seat of the station wagon for Happy Meals?
3. Snack Wrap: Why just eat meals at Mickey D’s when you can down snacks too?
2. Big Mac: A big “Duh” for this one. McDonald’s sells 550 million of these special sauce-topped hamburgers each year in the U.S. Alone.
1. French Fries: Americans love their McDonald’s french fries with a Zagat survey showing the fast food giant crushing the tater competition by a margin of over 50 percent.
