We’re not sure if painting a hot dog was offered up as an anti-drug alternative or some strange ‘60s drug-induced recreation that never made a comeback, but Merv Griffin was determined to show kids all the wonderful alternatives to getting high back in the day with this little ditty, “Have a Nice Trip.”

Seeing that it was released in 1968, we assume it wasn’t all that convincing.
