Microsoft debuts new tagline

Media_httpuploadwikim_feany

Microsoft unveiled a new tagline at its annual MGX (Microsoft Global Exchange) event and, no, it’s not “Never trust a man in black mock turtlenecks.” The new advertising slogan is…drumroll, please…"Be What’s Next."

Thoughts? Love it, hate it, indifferent?

It's a pretty good tagline, very catchy and inspirational.

Be what's next. What's not to like.

However as it relates to Microsoft? That's the part I'm not so clear on. :P

No good, makes me think of the question I ask myself after I use MS - what will they screw up next.

Versus "Do No Evil?" It's not clear to me that taglines mean very much to the outside market today; there are so many more important techniques for growing/evolving the brand. However, as a rallying "cry" or "theme" for 'softies,' I can see how this could work to MSFT benefit.

I was sure it would be: "Have a Churro?", building on a successful recent marketing campaign.

It is a catchy tagline, but we really have to think about their service and after sales services. I think taglines are just words. We need action, consistency and reliability.

I'm surprised it's not, "LOS LINKS!!!"

This tagline is awful for Microsoft. No one thinks of "brand new, cutting edge" and "Microsoft" in the same thought.

Microsoft needs to take advantage of the possible pitfalls with constantly embracing cutting-edge and represent it plainly in their tagline. Something like "Think clearly."

Maybe I'm more dyslexic than I thought but at first glance I thought it said "what be next"

I guess it's the logical next step from their "Be what's previous" tag they've rightly owned.

Wow. They got the name of two companies that Apple was involved with. 'Be' and 'NeXt.' Future tagline: "We're feeling lucky"

I like this thread! All of the Apple lovers have been able to forget about all the f-up's of the new iPhone and focus again their hatred on Microsoft. Nice to be able to overlook your own faults again isn't it. Cheers.

Microsoft's 'be what's next' was Google, and Google's 'be what's next' is Facebook. Surely the question is what's Facebook's 'be what's next'...? I love the tagline but perhaps too many will just see the irony!

I dig it. Somehow "Do No Evil" always feels like the next phrase should be " but damn close to it is fair game".

Actually a good tagline. Granted I'll always read it as "Be what's null"

Microsofts's new slogan "Be What's Next" is obviously a progression from "Be Here Now"
