Money doesn't buy happiness

In fact, money may actually buy unhappiness. Studies show that money robs people of their ability to savor pleasurable experiences. One group of people, for example, were shown a picture of money and then given a piece of chocolate. Another group was not shown the money but also given chocolate. The non-money group enjoyed their chocolate for 45 seconds, while the money group wolfed theirs down in a mere 32 seconds.

Happiness is a decision, a choice that needs to be made every morning – and often several more times during the day, it is independent of money and possessions. You can have everything stripped from you and still have the freedom to choose how to react.
