MySpace's new branding campaign to focus on gamers
MySpace makes more gurgling noises as it circles the drain. The ailing social networking site makes another thrust for its existence, this time with a site overhaul later this year and, according to a MySpace spokesperson, its "first big" branding campaign. Though MySpace recently cast itself as a music resource, the company now reportedly hopes to target gamers in its next push. The company reports that everyday one third of its users play games, and 28 million are active app users. Spearheading the effort will be newly-hired Senior VP-Marketing David Donegan who previously managed accounts for Red Bull and Qualcomm.
