Nearly 75% of Americans personally affected by recession
Some 73 percent of Americans were either laid off or witnessed someone in their family or a close friend lose their job, according to a new report by Rutgers professors. The research also shows that the more than half of Americans (56 percent) believe that the recession is part of a “lasting economic change,” instead of just an anomaly.
