In the Philippines, where karaoke is a national past time, there is one song no one will pick: Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.” It’s for a simple reason—singing it can get you killed. What’s not simple is why “My Way Killings” have threatened enough lives for karaoke businesses to remove the song from their books and for folks to even avoid singing it at family parties. What is it about this particular song that causes people to see red? Is it that the song is too hard to sing on key, or the violent way of life in the Philippines? How much of it is urban legend?

Do you know that "My Way" was the song (unofficial theme song) of the late Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino? I just remembered that (I was in college back then 20 years ago) when Mr. Aquino got assassinated. Could the song have had an effect on this situation too? .... hmmm...
