No cursive, wristwatches or Czechoslovakia for Class of 2014
At the beginning of each school year, Beloit College releases the Make You Feel Old List Mindset List, a list of short factoids that reveals the “cultural touchstones that shape the lives of students entering college this fall.”
Most students kissing their parents good-bye and moving into dorm rooms in the coming weeks entered the world in 1992. That means that in the only world known to this incoming freshman class, Korean cars have always been a staple on American roadways, computers have never lacked a CD-ROM disk drive, and Czechoslovakia has never existed.

- The artist formerly known as Snoop Doggy Dogg has always been rapping.
- They’ve always been able to blast off with the Sci-Fi Channel.
- Ruth Bader Ginsburg has always sat on the Supreme Court.

- Email is just too slow, and they seldom if ever use snail mail.
- John McEnroe has never played professional tennis
