Oh Canada: Fistfights (between parents) at an Easter egg hunt

Posted by / April 22, 2014

Things are nutty in Canada these days. The face of hockey in this country is changing because of the moronic actions of parents’ at their children’s games from punching each other in the face (and this is the moms) to bullying the children and the refs (pretty much everyone). And now this, an Easter egg hunt event that had parents hitting each other and snatching eggs from others’ kids’ baskets.

It all began when 7,000 more people than the 3,000 expected showed up for the Laval hunt. Chaos ensued.

Displeased with the delay in the start of the hunt, some parents disassembled the fence, causing both children and parents to lurch forward ahead of the scheduled depart time.

“The hunt was supposed to start at noon, but some people arrived at 9:30 a.m. and got impatient,” said Cocothon organizer Angella Pattas.

“It was really the beginning of the loss of control.”

Seriously. These people all need a life.
