Photographing soldiers before, during, and after war
Can the effects of combat be seen on a soldier’s face? That’s the question photographer Claire Felicie set out to answer with her beautiful photo series Here are the Young Men (Marked).
Felicie snapped close-up profile portraits of marines from the 13th infantry company of the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps before, during, and after their deployment to Uruzgan, Afghanistan in 2009-2010.
