Prescription for a broken heart: 2 Tylenol?

Media_httpdldropboxco_hhcvi

If you’ve ever truly had your heart broken you know that the “ache” in heartache is no metaphorical notion. Our hearts have the ability to hurt when emotionally damaged, much like your femur would hurt if it were broken. And according to a new study, Tylenol can help ease that psychic suffering in the same way it helps you overcome physical pain.

Of course, that’s no excuse to go downing Tylenol every time you’re rejected for a date or do poorly on a test. But, the discovery does point to a new line of inquiry on the link between physical and emotional pain, and may someday lead to interventions for severe social distress.

Interesting finding. More power to the good old Tylenol. I wish one day soon we will have a pill that magically takes away the physical manifestations of emotional pain. But until then, we might have to do it the old fashion way: learn how to work with our emotions. Thank you for the post.
