Qmilch: The high-fashion fabric made of milk? [video]

It should come as no surprise that when the talents of a fashion designer and microbiologist are combined with one very creative mind, weird and wonderful things are in store for the world of fashion, and that’s exactly what Anke Domaske is serving up with Qmilch.
Using milk that otherwise would have been thrown away, Domaske and a team at the University of Bremen came up with an ingenious way of creating a milk-based thread that’s environmentally-friendly, great for those with skin allergies, and feels like silk.
Oh, and did we mention it doesn’t smell?
