Report: Facebook in talks to buy Skype
Skype and Facebook have sat down for a chit-chat. The content of those talks remains unclear, but sources say an acquisition could be in the works.
A source has told Reuters that Facebook is considering a buyout of the internet phone service at a price of $3 to $4 billion. That hefty supposed price tag has raised some eyebrows though because Skype’s expected IPO would likely be in the $1 billion range.
Another option reportedly being weighed by the two tech companies is a joint venture, an option also possible between Skype and Google.
