Rolling Stone’s "Mad Men" Photoshop disaster

The heavy-handed retouch team at Rolling Stone mistakingly thought they had a Madonna-sized job on their hands and went over-the-top with the new "Mad Men"-themed cover. Jezebel points out all the noggin-scratching edits that left the hit show’s cast looking like Madame Tussaud’s wax figure rejects:

Aww, man... I'm a huge Rolling Stone and Mad Men fan, so this is really disappointing to me...

So sad... digital inclusion, more computers and less professional.

A comical posting, and, yeah, I guess Rolling Stone could have tried a little harder, but how about another possibility -- maybe they were making a (very subtle) point with the "fakeness"?

Jon's other leg is clearly visible! but too bad for the rest. This cast is so gorgeous it clearly don't need any photoshop work.

Yes, you can see another leg tucked under Jon, but if you look closely you will note that it's not HIS leg! Look at the angle as compared to his left leg? The right leg would have to join the left at approximately Jon's left thigh. oops! But are we sure the "barbie leg" doesn't belong to the pretty blonde actress?

This is some kind of parody, right? This isn't like those Sex in the City photos. They really are in the car together. His foot is visible (at a natural angle). That's not an unreasonable figure for a woman in a corset.
What's so unbelievable about one hand obscuring another? Or a photo shoot being lit from multiple angles?
Most absurdly: Is Jezebel suggesting that the actress doesn't have a foot?
I guess it gets hits.

It's refreshing to see that Christina Hendricks is so gorgeous that she needs no Photoshopping :)

RS Madmen cover seems more intentional PR stunt for attention than a mistake. mistakes always draw attention
