San Francisco Police Department assures LGBT kids “It Gets Better” [video]
The San Francisco Police Department wants to let LGBT kids know, in no uncertain terms, that it does get better, but in the meantime, they are there to protect and serve this most vulnerable population.
The 200 LGBT officers were enthusiastic about presenting their stories, though knowing their video would be viewed by so many people was an intimidating prospect.
“We put out the word and had plenty of volunteers,” [Commander Lea] Militello said. “We wanted to show all ages, all ranks, all genders, all ethnicities, all assignments.”
According to Police Chief Greg Suhr, though,
“People talk about the courage of cops all the time, but that took real courage up there.”
