Scientists discover huge bison from 40,000 years ago
This just goes to show that the ancient Chinese saying, "If you paddle down the river long enough, you'll find the remains of a 1,200 pound, 40,000 year old bison," is true.
University of Alaska biologists Dan Mann and Pam Groves did just that. Because the skeleton was in permafrost, hair and gristle were still attached.
