Some doctors don’t warn about surgery risks

Before providing treatment or surgery, some doctors and surgeons fail to explain the risks that could affect patients’ quality of life later, according to a new study.

The University of Melbourne study cites overlooked risks that led to a legal claim or complaint including chronic pain, sexual dysfunction, visual or hearing loss, and the need for re-operation.
