Spirit Airlines: “Check out the oil on our beaches”
Spirit Airlines introduced a painfully insensitive advertising campaign this week pushing customers to consider the non-oil soaked beaches of Puetro Rico, Cancun, and Atlantic City. Using the tagline “Check out the oil on our beaches” over a photo of a bikini-clad sun worshipper, the ad has already received plenty of criticism. Well, in Spirit’s defense, “Scoop dead pelicans out of our waters” doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.
