State Department now tweeting in Arabic
The surprisingly new media savvy U.S. State Department has started a new twitter feed for the Arab speaking world. According to one of the State Department's first Arabic tweets: "The US foreign ministry has recognized the historic role of social media in the Arab world and we want to be part of your conversations." The tweets come under the handle @USAbilAraby, which means "USA in Arabic." Interestingly, the feed is reportedly written in slightly more formal Arabic than a typical Arab tweeter would use.
