Apparently, the joke is that no one watches the Padres even if they are at the park, but Travis Decker learned the hard way that even fans should keep their eye on the ball.
“I was sitting there looking at my telephone. I was trying to post onto Facebook to say that I was here at the ballpark and check-in, ” Decker told MLB.com.
It was then that Will Venerable hit the foul ball that would make Decker the poster boy for what not to do at a ballgame.
