That's right, Paris Habitat will be providing its low income public housing residents heat courtesy of the subway tunnels.
An existing stairway connecting one of its properties to the subway stays a toasty fifty-seven to sixty-eight degrees year round, and the company is hoping this lucky coincidence combined with some clever green initiative will cut its carbon footprint by up to a third. Habitat spokesperson Francois Wachnick noted that, "We were lucky to find a passageway that allows us to collect the heat directly from the metro, without having to pay to build one, otherwise it would have been impossible."
One hopes, for the sake of the residents, that the really smelly folks use that free bike service.
