Tarp surfing goes viral [video]
Looking for a surfing experience that doesn’t require squeezing into a wetsuit or sporting salt water-drenched hair? Skip the beach and consider tarp surfing. Yes, tarp surfing. It’s just what it sounds like—a tarp creates the illusion of barrel waves while the “surfers” ride the wave on a skateboard.
Tarp surfing has lit up YouTube, garnering more than 1.57 million hits and inspiring dozens of knock-offs. Homer Henard and his fellow tarp surfers have ridden the wave of success (pun intended) all the way to Camden Yards where the Baltimore Orioles invited them to surf the field's tarp.
