New York Times columnist David Pogue provides ten useful tips for taming technology.
Heheh I read that as 10 useful tips for TANNING technology. Sorry +David Pogue but thanks for the giggle +Guy Kawasaki
A whole TED talk for mundane stuff I've been doing for years… apparently taking for granted
Best time saving tip: Read, don't watch vids.
and everybody trying out the "space bar to scroll down" tip just paused their YouTube player
I LOVE U
Most of these I knew but I did pick up one or two things. Thanks!
I don't think, it should be TED talk
Using J/K to go between G+ posts is useful (doesn't work with most sites though.
TED jumps the shark.
There has been a misunderstanding here: "the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less)"…
ted is about ide, not about tip and trick for 10 years old children
ted:idea world spreading. Com'n guys, this is not an IDEA. it's just tips
Good. Thinking. Now am mastering my keyboard.
A couple useful things. I always like a great shortcut. Double click nd drag to highlight in word increments is pretty cool.
I'm going to hand it to Pogue. He managed to find short cuts that, with one exception (which wasn't his fault) that work on virtually every platform. Or maybe I should be more impressed by the programmers who all agreed to adopt these!
Ok so B and W for ppts is new for me too….
Really nice presentation. Thanks for posting.
A TedTalk only about keyboard shorcuts? lol
Thanks for posting
I use a lot of these all of the time.I work on my fellow worker's computer to the tune of, "Wait. What did you do to get that on my screen?"
thank u it was helpful
Wow! that was just great. I have to memorize those tricks. How is it we never hear about those?
This was a TED talk!? Another tip for you guys is hold down CTRL and scroll up or down for web page zoom. Also TAB is for the next box, SHIFT + TAB is for the previous box.
Noob stuff. The double space for period is IOS don't work on android, thank fuck
+Guy Kawasaki good Friday stuff
+gary F Works on my Cyanogenmod keyboard…
+gary F actually it does (at least on CyanogenMod 10.1)
I know a lot of people that need to know these basics.
Double space period works with Swype and on SwiftKey Flow.
It's hard to believe that people don't actually know these.
Thanks for the gigle ha ja ha
Thank you for sharing! +Guy Kawasaki
All the whiners here about this TED talk ignore that there's a previous and very useful one about how to tie your shoe laces. Go ahead and look for it if you don't beleive it.
+Tazein Mirza Saad hi
does this need to be a TED talk
+David Pogue is simply brilliant!
After several Ctrl+ (or Ctrl-) to increase (decrease) the text in the browser, you can return to the original size with Ctrl 0.
I seriously don't think this should be a TED talk. I use most of them and many more, already, all the time.
Another wonderful day given by God
Waste of time. How much the people in audience paid to watch this in-person?
god ssooo boring
Ohh same here as well looking for someone to keep me busy here as well
I knew most of these. I didn't know about shift space to page up, it r double tapping space on a smartphone to start a new sentence. But I do now!
