The creation of a galaxy [video]
Creation is a thing of beauty, be it a work of art or a galaxy, and this incredible simulation from the Pleiades supercomputer at NASA tracking the creation of a galaxy over 13.5 billion years is certainly a wonder to behold.
As Chris Welch at The Verge explained:
It wouldn’t be a disk galaxy without an abundance of stars, and each of the colors in the simulation represents something different: red depicts older stars while white and bright blue correspond to new ones — the paler blue shade accounts for distribution of gas density.
