Not long ago, we featured a fake trailer created by Big Lazy Robot that provided a terrifying face of a dystopian future, and it looks like now Boston Dynamics has provided the body.

Atlas is a high mobility, humanoid robot designed to negotiate outdoor, rough terrain. Atlas can walk bipedally leaving the upper limbs free to lift, carry, and manipulate the environment. In extremely challenging terrain, Atlas is strong and coordinated enough to climb using hands and feet, to pick its way through congested spaces.

Note to self: It’s going to take more than twenty pounds to topple this sucker; Atlas can shrug that off, no problem.

It’s sweet that Boston Dynamics already provided Atlas with a best friend with which to wander the post-apocalyptic landscape, though.
