While you’ve probably been keeping track of medal counts and records broken, what you might not have noticed about this year’s Olympics are the efforts toward sustainability being taken in London.

As part of the building, they also implemented new technology in their main parking garage that reduces the time to park by offering tiered parking for longer and shorter term parking, parking guidance to allow for easy locating of open and accessible parking spots, and resources to allow visitors to easily find their own cars to avoid congestion getting out. The added bonus is that the system they used, by a company called ParkAssist, also allows for added security through real time monitoring of the spots, reduced energy consumption through LED and digital technology, that allows full monitoring and tracking of vehicles to reduce crime risks.

    (Full Disclosure: I don’t work for them, and a while ago worked with them on some of their needs as a consultant, but was not in any way involved in the Olympic Park installation. I just found their technology really exciting for something I had never thought about before and was amazed at the impact it had.)
