The jury’s still out on ‘pretend play’ for kids
Pretend play can be fun for preschool children, but it may not be as crucial to a child’s development as previously believed.
“It may well be that when a future experiment is really well done we may find something that pretend play does for development, but at this point these claims are all overheated,” says University of Virginia psychologist Angeline Lillard.
