The Pope listens to Tupac?
Music from late rapper Tupac Shakur has been included as part of the Vatican’s official MySpace Music playlist. The Vatican released a list of twelve songs onto the social networking site’s streaming music service this week, when the site launched in the U.K.
Tupac’s track Changes, which was released two years after his death on a greatest hits album in 1998, was the song that made the cut.
Father Giulio Neroni, artistic director of church publisher St. Paul’s Multimedia, was responsible for compiling the list, and argues that although the song is explicit, it aims to reach the heart of good minded people.
Changes now sits between other selections like Mozart, Dame Shirley Bassey and select songs from Music of the Vatican.
