On first read I thought it said "avg. worker spend 1.7hrs working"

Totally reminds me of:
Peter Gibbons: Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh - after that I sorta space out for an hour.
Bob Porter: Da-uh? Space out?
Peter Gibbons: Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

And at least 10 minutes of my internet time is taken up reading my daily Holy Kaw! email, which is always enlightening.

Okay so seeing that statistically speaking, younger people waste more time than older people.. do you think this is because they don't have enough work... or they don't have tight deadlines. I find that I waste the most time when I have something to do but there's no urgency to get it done. what do you think?

With twitter, Facebook and other Social Media site, the internet is the tops thing that distracts employees from working. As for me, it isn't slacking off, its MULTITASKING. LOL ;)
