The internets have crowned a new blog king--all bow down to Tumblr.

According to data provided on their respective websites, Tumblr now hosts more blogs than former market dominator, WordPress. In just four years since launching, Tumblr has racked up (at last count) 20,873,182 blogs. Compare that to the 20,787,904 blogs accumulated by WordPress over eight years.

Tumblr certainly boasts the trendy factor, but, as Mashable points out, WordPress might not need to worry too much since folks use the two sites in different ways. One social, one serious (you can probably figure out which is which).
