So long suggested users! Don’t let the Fail Whale whack you on the way out!

Caving to pressure, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone announced this week that the micro-blogging site will do away with the controversial list. Speaking at a conference in Malaysia, Stone said, “That list will be going away, in its stead will be something that is more programmatically chosen, something that actually delivers more relevant suggestions.”

The suggested user list came under fire recently when political watchdogs in California claimed it favored Democratic gubernatorial candidates over the Republican counterparts.

Expect a revamped version of the “cool kids” list to debut at some point and, immediately following, expect a hashtag-filled controversy to sweep through the Twittesphere. Here’s what we suggest that you do.
