"the media" is a modern invention, maybe 200 years old. Before that we all just listened to the trustworthy guy at the end of the block. It seems like we're coming around to a more egalitarian approach, just on a larger scale. Yay.

It is kind of awe inspiring how social media tools in their infant stages seems so simple, take facebook for example, has now grown into a much larger field.
