Two new Egyptian pyramid complexes discovered with Google Earth
If all things Egypt get your archaeology-lovin’ heart racing, then get ready to take some deep breaths.
After a decade of combing Google Earth images for ancient ruins, archaeological researcher Angela Micol has possibly identified two as yet undiscovered pyramid complexes, one with a “triangular plateau…almost three times larger than the Giza Pyramid” and another near the ancient town of Dimai with “similar…diagonal alignment of the Giza Plateau pyramids.”
Fieldwork will have to be done to verify that they are, in fact, pyramids, but the color suggests the use of mud brick as found in other ancient Egyptian structures in the area.
