Why obesity is a leading cause of cancer

According to a new study, obesity causes 100,000 U.S. cases of cancer per year. That number is only expected to rise as Americans get bigger. Cancer is currently the second leading cause of death, next to heart disease.

To say that the numbers are only getting worse is even an understatement. In Mississippi, the state with the greatest obesity, it is expected that 50% of children will be obese, not just overweight, by 2015.
