Why tests don’t catch all nut allergies

Researchers have uncovered new clues to peanut allergies that may lead to more accurate diagnostic tools.

A study by researchers at the University of Virginia indicates the emerging use of an artificially produced protein in diagnostic tests may not be a suitable replacement for the natural protein Ara h 1, one of the major peanut allergens.
